Troy Lesesne’s D.C. United secured a hard-fought 2-1 win against Chicago Fire FC, extending their winning streak to four out of the last five games and climbing above the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs line. The team’s Designated Players, midfielder Mateusz Klich and striker Christian Benteke, delivered standout performances against Chicago, with Klich providing two crucial assists and Benteke scoring a goal and providing an assist. Benteke’s impressive form sees him leading the Golden Boot presented by Audi race with 18 goals.
Meanwhile, Seattle Sounders FC capitalized on the Columbus Crew’s first-half red card to secure a resounding 4-0 victory, leaving them just one point away from a home playoff spot. Albert Rusnák stole the show with his first career MLS hat trick, while Jordan Morris contributed a goal and an assist after forcing Crew goalkeeper Abraham Romero’s red card. Cristian Roldan also shone on the field, putting in a vintage all-around performance.
